Yakima, Washington – A man tries to launder more than $85,500 through Legends Casino

A 39 year old who has not worked since 2014 has been arrested and charged with money laundering offenses. He was caught by police trying to launder $85,500 through Legends Casino. Although he hadn’t worked for over a year, he ran $85,500 though the casino between the months of January and June, with 70% of the money being laundered in June. During the months between January and June, the man lost approximately $3,000 which indicates that the money was not from any casino winnings. The man is no stranger to the law, as he was arrested in July for driving a stolen Jeep Cherokee which was searched and found to contain methamphetamine and a scale. He was also arrested in September after police discovered several bags of meth in his car. A sawed-off .22 caliber rifle was later found in his house, and since he has multiple felonies for possession of controlled substances and second-degree theft, he is not allowed to legally own a gun. The man has appeared in court to face six counts of possession of drugs with intent to distribute, as well as possession of a stolen vehicle, second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm and money laundering charges.
