Wichita Falls, Texas – An elderly man is scammed out of $90K by 2 women he met at a casino

The Wichita County Sheriff’s Department recently arrested and charged Mary Ann Warren, 61, and her sister Sandy Lujan, 52, with the exploitation of elderly or disabled, a 3rd degree felony after they bilked an 85 year old man out of more than $90,000. Warren apparently met the man in a casino and stayed in touch with him, before introducing him to her sister, Lujan. According to the Times Record News, police have alleged that between March and August 2018, the two sisters stole $90,761 from the elderly man. The whistle was blown when the victim’s son filed a report with Adult Protective Services on the 9th of August, reporting the financial exploitation of his father. The victim, who suffers from short-term memory loss, confusion and diminished judgment said that he was helping Warren with medical expenses, but does not recall how much money he gave her. When asked to show evidence of her medical expenses, Warren was unable to do so. Warren’s bond was set at $500,000 and Lujan’s bond was set at $250,000.
