Two sisters are robbed, kidnapped and carjacked after leaving MotorCity Casino

Two elderly sisters, aged 68 and 72 who left the MotorCity casino at approximately 5.30 AM on Thursday morning were approached by a man who was armed with a handgun. After forcing the women into their vehicle, the man took an undisclosed amount of money from them before driving them out of the MotorCity casino parking garage and ordering them to get out of the vehicle shortly afterwards. Left without a car or money in an unfamiliar neighborhood in the city’s west side, the two women were found by a good Samaritan who helped them to get to a police station where they reported the crime. Fortunately, neither of the two women were physically harmed during the ordeal. The stolen car is a red PT Cruiser, with the license plate AEW 319. The suspect is described as African American and about 30 to 35 years of age. He is approximately 6 feet 1 inches with a medium complexion and a muscular build. He has a light mustache and a goatee, with a short high top fade. He also has a tattoo on his left forearm. “We take this isolated incident very seriously. Our organization is working closely with local law enforcement as they continue their investigation. The safety and security of our guests remain of the utmost importance to us.” MotorCity casino officials said in a prepared statement. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police department’s commercial auto theft unit at (313) 596-2555.
