Texarkana, Texas – Police raid an illegal gambling house

Following a two week investigation of a business establishment that is located in Oak Lawn Village Shopping Center (2729 New Boston Rd, Texarkana, TX 75501), officers from the Texarkana Texas Police Department raided the shop, arrested two persons, confiscated $5,000 in cash, an ATM and approximately 30 computers. Police were alerted to the illegal gambling activities that were taking place inside the shop by a tip off from a member of the public. As part of the investigation process, undercover police officers went into the shop several times and paid to play the eight-liner games on computers inside the business while witnessing some players receiving cash prizes. The two persons who are allegedly associated with the business; Lee Dailey, 51, of Palestine, Texas and James Thompson Jr., 25, of DeKalb, Texas were arrested and charged with engaging in organized criminal activity. According to officials, Dailey is believed to own the business, while Thompson is an employee. Both suspects are currently being held in the Bi-State Jail.
