Sullivan County Casino

Workers have so far cleared 100 acres in preparation for the construction of Sullivan casino at the former Concord Resort property off Exit 106 on Route 17. The main focus of the 100 acre clearance prep work is to bring sewer, water, electricity and roads to the area. The casino resort, which will be built on 1,700 acre, and is estimated to cost $1.1 billion, has been a long awaited project for the residents of Sullivan county. The speed at which the project is moving along is due to a fear of a possible ban on the cutting of trees from April to October, and the desire of the project managers to build the casino resort as soon as possible.
