Stricter ATM laws for Massachusetts casinos

The Massachusetts State Gaming Commission adopted a number of provisions that were made by state Attorney General Maura Healey to protect gamblers visiting the casinos in Massachusetts. One of the recommendations includes the prohibition of ATMs that dispense cash from credit card accounts. Under draft regulation, ATMs can only be located in the hallways and at least 4.57 meters from rooms containing slots machines and gambling tables. Another recommendation is that the ATM owners be disallowed from selling any of the information that is gathered from the ATM users, or using the collected data for marketing purposes. Healey also asked the commission to begin drafting stronger anti money laundering legislation, and expressed concern over casinos that eagerly extend lines of credit to their players.
