Shreveport, Louisiana – A Sam’s Town Hotel and Casino employee is charged with felony theft

The director of slots at Sam’s Town Hotel and Casino was arrested on Friday the 5th of January. The Louisiana State Police Gaming Enforcement Division was contacted by the casino after it was discovered that Frank Leeper, 45, of Haughton, was creating fraudulent credit payouts in order to defraud the casino. Investigators found that Leeper had stolen more than $3,000 on three separate occasions. Investigators waited for Leeper to arrive at work on Friday before they questioned him. He confessed to stealing the money, and was charged with felony theft and taken to the Caddo Parish Correctional Center. The investigation is continuing, and additional charges are possible.

“This arrest by Gaming Enforcement Troopers is believed to be the first arrest of a “key employee” within the gaming industry hierarchy in the state Louisiana. The trust that the public places in us to ensure a fair gaming experience is not something we take lightly. Troopers work diligently day and night to protect the public interest and ensure the integrity of gaming in Louisiana. This is accomplished through a multi-disciplined regulatory approach using proven best practices to prevent this type of activity.” said Colonel Michael D. Edmonson, the Louisiana State Police Superintendent in a statement.

Sam’s Town Hotel and Casino is located at 315 Clyde Fant Pkwy, Shreveport, Louisiana 71101.
