Scottsdale, Arizona – A couple are arrested for leaving a child in a car while they gambled at Casino Arizona

Brad Porter Jr., 23, and Jessica Lopez, 25, were arrested on Sunday the 9th of October after leaving their 5 year old son in the car while they gambled at Casino Arizona. A casino security guard found the boy asleep in the car with the windows cracked, and alerted the Salt River Police Department. Upon searching the vehicle, police also found marijuana and several bottles of beer in the car. Police identified and located the couple after reviewing surveillance footage from the casino. The parents were arrested at approximately 3:30 a.m. Sunday outside Casino Arizona. The couple admitted to leaving the child in the vehicle for 2 hours, but checked up on him every 30 minutes to make sure that he was okay. Lopez and Porter were held on suspicion of one count of endangerment of a minor, one count of drug paraphernalia possession, one count of endangering the life of a minor, one count of marijuana possession and one count of child abuse. The child was turned over to the Arizona Department of Child Safety.
