Schenectady, New York – Rivers Casino & Resort is fined $6,000 for underage gambling

On Tuesday the 14th of February, Andrick Singh, 20, visited Rivers Casino & Resort. Although the ID scanner at the security checkpoint raised a red flag, the security guard disregarded it and allowed Singh to enter the casino. Singh spent well over an hour and a half on the gaming floor before winning $1,326 at the casino. It was only when Singh tried to collect the win that the casino employees realized that he was underage. The casino reported the incident to the New York State Gaming Commission who fined the casino $6,000 for allowing a person under the legal age of 21 onto the gaming floor without an escort, and for allowing an underage person to make a wager. The jackpot prize was forfeited to the state.
