Rockville, Maryland – A thief uses a GPS tracking device to tail a gambler back to his house

After attaching a GPS tracking device to the vehicle of a gambler leaving the Horseshoe Casino, Kevin Carroll, along with an accomplice, conducted an armed invasion of the victim’s Germantown home. During the armed home invasion, Carroll and his accomplice pointed guns at the man’s teenage daughter and 21 year old son, before marching the son through the house while searching for money. The criminals eventually stole $6,000 before leaving the premises. Soon afterwards, police arrested Carroll when investigators found his DNA on the duct tape that he used to cover the girl’s mouth. Following a trial, the jury found Carroll guilty of armed robbery, assault and other other crimes. Carroll is currently facing more than 80 years of prison time.
