Reno, Nevada – A casino patron uses pepper spray during a fight at Peppermill Reno

At approximately 1:35 a.m. on Friday the 1st of January 2016, a fight broke out between two men at the Peppermill Reno, which is a luxury hotel and casino located in Reno, Nevada. During the course of the fight, one man produced a pepper spray canister and sprayed pepper spray in the direction of the other man. Although no one was seriously harmed, a number of people were treated at the scene by paramedics, while staff quickly ventilated the affected area. The suspect who is described as Hispanic and in his 20s was last seen running north on Virginia Street from the Peppermill Reno. The canister used during the incident was later recovered nearby and found to be a commercially produced pepper spray canister that is meant to repel bears. Authorities are currently working with the Nevada Gaming Control Board, and Peppermill Reno to identify the suspect. Peppermill Reno is located at 2707 S Virginia Street, Reno, Nevada 89502.
