Poughkeepsie, New York – A couple win a $10 million scratch-off lottery ticket jackpot

James and Sylvia Silverence from Poughkeepsie, New York are the winners of the largest scratch-off lottery ticket jackpot in the history of the state. At the cost of $30 per ticket, the $10,000,000 scratch-off lottery ticket was part of the New York Lottery’s recently launched special 50th Anniversary instant game.

After the customer standing in front of James in the queue purchased four of the $10,000,000 Cash tickets, James decided to purchase the remaining six tickets in the store. Taking the tickets back home, James gave them to his wife to scratch, and the rest is history. The winning ticket was purchased at a Stewart’s Shops store in the hamlet of Red Oaks Mill.
