Police crackdown on illegal gambling in Ohio

Authorities in Springfield Ohio served 30 search warrants in Ohio on Wednesday the 27th of May, with at least 15 search warrants being conducted in Clark County. As a result of the search warrants, 525 administrative charges were filed against 22 Ohio businesses. The charges were for knowingly allowing gambling and operating electronic gambling machines. The charges could lead to criminal prosecutions and the loss of liquor licenses. A total of 148 electronic video gambling machines were seized during the raids. Florida and Georgia businesses were also raided as part of this investigation which began in 2013. The Ohio business that were cited include:

  • Wagon Wheel, 10005 South Burnett Avenue
  • Social Club, 210 West Main Street
  • Sidetrax Tavern, 112 West Main Street
  • Ole’ Brick Tavern, 3475 Mechanicsburg Road
  • Nite Owl Tavern, 601 West Main Street
  • Nifty 50’s Bar, 365 Ludlow Avenue
  • Main Street Pub, 2014 East Main Street
  • Hop Bar, 213 Lytle Avenue
  • County Line Drive Thru, 6978 Urbana Road
  • Chap’s, 2352 South Yellow Springs Street
  • Bogie’s Bar and Grill, 3950 Springfield-Xenia Road
  • Boone Saloon, 3490 Dayton Avenue
  • John’s Drive Thru, 826 West Main Street
  • T&A Grocery, 1572 Kenton Street
  • The Ooh-Ooh Drive Thru at 6775 Dayton-Yellow Springs Road in Enon
