Phuket, Thailand – police close down an illegal casino and arrest 52 people

On Friday the 6th of July, police received a tip-off that people were gambling at a makeshift casino on Soi Chumchon Seang Suk, Lim Sui Ju Road in Phuket. When police arrived at the warehouse, they arrested 26 people and confiscated a number of gambling related items. A few days later, on the 10th of July, police received another tip-off about the same makeshift casino before raiding the property for a second time. This time, police arrested another 26 people and confiscated more gambling items. Police believe that the illegal casino was set up during a time during which police are expected to be busy dealing with the boating incidents off Phuket.
