North Kansas City, Missouri – A suspect and a patrol trooper are shot in Harrah’s casino parking garage

Sometime around 11 p.m on Friday the 20th of May, Harrah’s casino security contacted the Missouri Highway Patrol and reported that a man in the casino’s parking garage was behaving very suspiciously. When the two troopers assigned to the gaming division arrived, they identified the suspect as 35 year old Ronald R. Morris, of Kansas City. Morris had an outstanding warrant for his arrest in a neighboring city, and was standing near a stolen vehicle. When the troopers attempted to arrest Morris, he pulled out a gun and shot one of the troopers. The second trooper returned fire and shot Morris. Morris suffered serious injuries, while the trooper suffered moderate injuries. The trooper who shot Morris did not suffer any injuries.
