Niagara Falls, New York – A woman is arrested & charged after winning $1,400 at Seneca Niagara Casino

After winning a $50,000 jackpot and then losing it, Pasqua DiGianni banned herself from Seneca Niagara Casino in May 2015. However, in April 2017, DiGianni, 69, returned to the casino and won a slot machine jackpot to the value of $1,400. When she tried to collect the money, casino officials discovered that she was banned from the casino and refused to pay her the money. Instead, the casino refunded the $600 that DiGianni had spent on the slot machine and contacted Niagara Falls police, who charged her with trespassing.

DiGianni said that she was sent a letter in 2016 stating that she was free to return to the casino, but the casino’s website states that in cases of voluntary self-banning, the player must wait a year and request reinstatement in writing. DiGianni said that she did not request to be reinstated in writing.

“I was really shocked. They could have warned me, ‘OK, we believe what you’re saying,’ but not give me this court date,” DiGianni said.
