Niagara Falls, New York – A security guard dies after subduing a man at Seneca Niagara Casino

Sometime before 3:00 am on Saturday the 6th of May, Quynshod Johnson-Taylor, 23, and a woman whom he met through an online dating site got into an argument. According to police reports, Johnson-Taylor became upset when the woman refused an invitation from him to drive her home. As a result, Johnson-Taylor allegedly punched her in the throat and was trying to leave the casino when he was stopped and detained by Thomas Dardes who was working security that night. Looking pale and out-of-breath, Dardes went to another room to lie down. Dardes went into cardiac arrest and was transported to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Johnson-Taylor was charged with third-degree menacing and second-degree harassment. It is not yet clear whether he will face additional charges because of Dardes’ death.
