New Russian gambling zone could rival Las Vegas and Macau

The Tigre de Cristal which is located in Russia’s far east Primorye region opened it’s doors on the 8th of October 2015. It is the first of four confirmed casinos in the Primorsky Integrated Entertainment Zone (PIEZ), otherwise known as the Primorye region outside Vladivostok. So far, this new gambling destination has been a great success with Primorye welcoming almost 365k foreign tourists in 2015, which is an increase of 18.5% from 2014. From the 365,000 tourists, 61% came from China, South Korea and Japan, and they generated approximately 80% of the revenue. This new Russian gambling destination has so far been so successful that the Tigre de Cristal’s 121-room hotel is fully booked until the end of February. Given the current success of the Tigre de Cristal, once the other casino development projects are completed, the Primorsky Integrated Entertainment Zone (PIEZ) could rival Las Vegas and Macau, who are currently the world’s top Gambling destinations.
