Nepal, Bardiya District – Police officers and gamblers clash

Police and gamblers clashed when police officers raided a house that was suspected of hosting illegal gambling during the early hours of Friday morning on the 13th of November 2015. Four police personnel, including two inspectors were injured in the physical fight which the police ended by firing 12 rounds of ammunition in the air. In addition to the arrests, police also confiscated Rs. 200,000 (Indian Rupees) in cash which are the equivalent of $3,000 USD. Police also confiscated five motorcycles that were found at the house. The Bardiya District is one of 75 districts of Nepal, and is located in the Bheri zone in the mid Western region of Nepal.
