Leicester, North Carolina – Wife tells husband that lottery is a waste of money and then wins $1 million

Buddy asked his wife to buy two Powerball tickets last Saturday. Believing that lottery is a waste of money, and just to make a point, Glenda Blackwell purchased a $10 Carolina Millions scratch-off ticket for herself instead. Shortly after purchasing the ticket, Blackwell realized that she had won a cool $1 million, and decided to take the lump sum of $415,503 after taxes. Thanks to the lottery win, the couple can now buy a home of their own and help their granddaughters go to college one day. “Sometimes I get aggravated with him, so I tell him, ‘You’re just wasting your money.’” Blackwell told local ABC affiliate WLOS, “I had to eat my words, but they were worth eating.”
