Las Vegas, Nevada – New code for responsible gambling

While 98% of casino patrons gamble responsibly, approximately 2% of gamblers do not, and suffer from gambling problems. To address the issue of problem gambling, the code of the American Gaming Association is asking casino operators to provide casino employees with training that will enable them to promote responsible gambling to casino players. Casino operators are asked to explain to casino patrons the true odds of winning or losing at various casino games. Casino operators are also asked not to use gambling advertisements that guarantee social, financial or personal success. The code also instructs casino operators on procedures for dealing with underage gambling, among other issues.
