Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Senior citizens are caught taking drugs and gambling

On the 26th of January, Cheras district police raided a shop in Taman Miharja that was housing an illegal Mahjong gambling operation. During the course of the raid, police arrested 20 people who were aged between 50 and 79 years old. Police also found and confiscated RM4,000 in cash, Mahjong chips and a number of drugs including heroin, ecstasy, and Erimin 5 pills. All 20 gamblers were charged and arrested. Police are currently investigating the the case under the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953 and the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
