Kings Langley, Watford – National lottery winner is arrested for producing a fake lottery ticket

Edward Putnam, 53, of Kings Langley, Watford was recently arrested for fraudulently claiming a lottery jackpot prize of £2,525,485 in 2009. The winning numbers 6, 9, 20, 21, 31 and 34 were drawn on the 11th of March, and when no one claimed the prize, Putnam came forward to claim it just before the cut-off date. However following a 3 year investigation, Putnam was charged with fraud by allegedly producing a fraudulent National Lottery ticket and pocketing £2,525,485 under false pretenses. Putnam has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
