Japan might legalize casino gambling

Pro casino lawmakers in Japan have submitted a bill to legalize casino gambling on Tuesday. The bill was submitted by members of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party, the Japan Innovation Party and the Party for Future Generations. It is hoped that the bill will be voted on and passed before July or August, during the current parliamentary session. Although there is opposition to the bill from members of the Buddhist-backed Komeito, the majority of lawmakers are in favor of the bill being passed. A gambling industry in Japan has the potential to generate $40 billion a year. Las Vegas Sands Corp and MGM Resorts International are just two companies that are understandably interested in establishing a presence in Japan.
