Jamaica, New York – Frustrated gamblers break slot machines at Resorts World Casino

Due to reasons, including; frustration, anger, desperation, money loss, drunkenness, etc, some of the gamblers at Resorts World Casino have been hitting and punching the slot machines so hard that many of them end up being damaged or broken. In fact between October 2011 and August 2018, police have made 491 criminal mischief arrests at the casino. When angry gamblers start taking out their frustrations on the slot machines by hitting the keys and buttons too hard, casino security contacts the police department who either warn or arrest the culprits. In some cases, some of these culprits are forced to pay between from $600 to $1,400 to repair the damage caused to the machines. “Sometimes, guys punch it hard, other times, they just tap it. Sometimes they can’t believe (they broke them)” A police spokesperson said.
