Jacksonville, Onslow County, North Carolina – Six people are arrested for illegal gambling operations

The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office raided three business locations in Jacksonville, following a two month long undercover investigation into illegal gambling that was allegedly taking place. The investigation was prompted when authorities received several complaints from persons who claimed that they were being ripped off by the gambling games at those locations. When authorities swooped in on the three businesses on Thursday the 20th of April, they found and seized 11 gambling machines, gambling paraphernalia, ledgers, receipts, tally sheets and $11,667 in cash. Six people were arrested and charged with a number of violations including; (1) misdemeanor gambling violation, (2) misdemeanor operate or possess a slot machine, (3) misdemeanor allowing gambling in a public house, (4) misdemeanor allowing gaming tables, and (5) misdemeanor keeping slot machines and gaming tables.
