Hong Kong police raid illegal gambling dens, arrest operators and seize HK$1 million

Over the weekend, Hong Kong police conducted a series of raids on four illegal gambling operations in Kowloon and on Hong Kong Island, arresting at least 24 people, seizing gambling equipment and over HK$1 million in cash. Apparently, the illegal gambling dens were operated by a local triad society or in other words, a criminal organization. One of the suspects that were arrested had HK$2,000 worth of ketamine in his possession, and was also charged with drug trafficking offenses. Most of those arrested were charged with either operating or gambling in an illegal gambling establishment. Hong Kong police arrested 11 people and seized HK$700,000 in separate illegal gambling raids last month.
