Hemet, California – A Pizza Hut delivery man wins $1.2 million on a California Lucky Life Scratcher Lottery ticket

Joseph Carrillo, 31, worked as a pizza delivery man for Pizza Hut, and was down to his last $100 when he decided to purchase a $2 California Lucky Life Scratcher Lottery ticket from Paradise Express Liquor & Market in Hemet. Carrillo initially thought that he had only won $4,000, but Efrain Murillo, the store manager assured him that he had won much more than that. How much did he win? A cool $1.2 million. The win was a Godsend as Carrillo was planning on moving out of his apartment because of high rent on the very same day that he won the money. Instead of receiving $4,000 per month for the next 25 years, Carrillo has opted to take the lump sum of $696,000 before federal taxes.
