Golden Nugget casino in Tukwila is closing down

Golden Nugget casino in Tukwila is scheduled to close by the end of June. The casino which is located at 14025 Interurban Avenue South Tukwila, Washington 98168 was established in 1994 and currently employs approximately 69 people. Golden Nugget casino in Tukwila “was an underperforming asset in our portfolio,” said Victor Mena, who is the chief operating officer of Washington Gold Casinos, which is a subsidiary of Las Vegas-based Nevada Gold & Casinos. Many of the 69 current employees will likely be moved to other casinos in the Puget Sound area owned by Nevada Gold. Some of these casinos include; the Silver Dollar Casinos in SeaTac, Renton and Bothell; the Crazy Moose Casinos in Mountlake Terrace and Pasco; the Club Hollywood Casino in Shoreline; and Royal Casino in Everett. A unnamed party has expressed interest in purchasing the casino and re-opening it as a new entity.
