Fremont, California – A South Bay casino player is followed home, assaulted and robbed

A 55-year-old woman was assaulted and robbed at approximately 1:00 a.m. on the 18th of October in front her house after having made her way home from a South Bay casino. She was struck on the back of her head numerous times with a hard object, before the male assailant took her purse. Hearing her screams, the woman’s husband chased the attacker on foot. The attacker escaped by climbing into a 1999 tan-colored Toyota Camry and speeding off. When police reviewed the surveillance video at the casino, they noticed a man following her closely in the casino. The man left the casino when the woman left, and continued to follow her in a tan-colored vehicle. Following a brief police investigation, the man was identified as Barry Heisner, 44. Police discovered that the 1999 tan-colored Toyota Camry is registered to Heisner’s girlfriend, Darlene Marquis, 45. When police searched Marquis’ house, they found the victim’s purse and belongings. Heisner and Marquis were booked in Alameda County Jail and charged with attempted murder and robbery.
