Fort Lauderdale, Florida – A slot machine winner is denied the jackpot because his friend pushed the button

Mr. Jan Flato, 66, and his female friend Marina Navarro, 35, were gambling at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino near Fort Lauderdale when Flato asked Navarro to push his slot machine button for good luck. The lights flashed and the bells rang showing that Flato had won a $100,000 jackpot. Flato was absolutely ecstatic until he tried to collect the winnings. That’s when casino officials reviewed the surveillance footage and told Flato that the person who pushed the button is the rightful winner of the jackpot. Even though Flato paid $50-per-spin on the Double Top Dollar slot machine and used his gambling card, Navarro collected the win.

“The person who pushes a slot machine button or pulls the arm is the person who wins the jackpot,” said Seminole spokesman Gary Bitner.
