Flagstaff, Arizona – A robot joins the security team at Twin Arrows Casino Resort

It’s science fiction come to life. A robot security guard has joined the security team at the Twin Arrows Casino in Flagstaff, Arizona. Standing more than 5 feet tall and weighing nearly 400 pounds, the robot can travel at a maximum speed of 3 miles per hour and can scan up to 300 license plates per minute, searching for stolen or wanted vehicles. The robot can also record and playback audio and video files, and serve as a two-way intercom. The robot will assist the casino’s security team by providing 24/7 surveillance of the casino’s parking lot. The robot (which is yet to be given a name) is already proving to be quite popular with the casino patrons as many casino visitors have been seen taking selfies with it. The autonomous security robot was developed and created by Knightscope, a technology security firm that is based in California.
