Chester, New Jersey : A Trick Tray and Bingo Event to Combat Human Trafficking

Street Smart (streetsmartoutreach.org), a street outreach program that reaches out to homeless youth is organizing a Trick Tray and Bingo event to help raise money to help homeless youth and young adults. The event will run from 12 p.m to 4 p.m on Saturday the 26th of September at Hoffman Hall, 86 Main Street; Chester, New Jersey 07930. The admission fee is $30 and includes lunch, a pack of 10 Bingo games, and an entry for a door prize. Participants are welcome to purchase beverages, additional bingo games and basket raffle tickets at the event. Street Smart Outreach workers provide food, clothing and blankets, access to shelter, crisis intervention counseling, transportation to services, and referrals to health care and social service agencies. They also provide HIV/AIDS and safe sex information, rape crisis support, substance abuse education, and help finding jobs and housing. “Within 48 hours of hitting the street, a runaway will be approached by someone in the trafficking industry,” said Jennifer Amaya, Street Smart’s director of outreach and prevention. “Street Smart is making a tremendous impact on the lives of hundreds of youths.”
