Canonsburg, Pennsylvania – A state trooper suffers a broken leg while arresting a man at the Meadows Racetrack and Casino

At approximately 12:30 a.m. on Sunday the 28th of February, casino personnel reported a disturbance on the casino floor of the Meadows Racetrack and Casino. When state trooper James Amitrone of the Washington barracks tried to arrest the suspect who was accused of causing the disturbance, the suspect resisted arrest which led to the arresting officer suffering a broken leg. Shawn C. Lamonde, 39, of McDonald was eventually arrested, taken into custody, and charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, simple assault, resisting arrest and harassment. Lamonde was transported to the Washington County Booking Center where he is held on $25,000 bail.
