Blackjack

Of the many different types of casino card games, is the game of Blackjack which tops many casino players’ lists of games. The game of Blackjack is found in virtually every land based casino in the world. When it comes to the online casino playing environment, the number of Blackjack variants on offer is enormous!

However, with so many different types of Blackjack games available to players, it can often be overwhelming to find the best type of Blackjack game to play.

There are a few pointers which we can give you regarding the better paying Blackjack games available online.

You ought to be seeking games which offer the lowest number of decks in the shoe, and the most liberal game playing rules.

Games such as Microgaming’s Classic Blackjack or Playtech’s Blackjack Switch boast the lowest house edges of all the online Blackjack games. So when you decide to play online, then make sure that you check out these two variants.

There is one Blackjack game called Double Exposure Blackjack. On first appearance, it looks like a great game to play due to the fact that the dealer’s cards are always on show. Therefore, when it comes to placing your bets, you will be basing them on the dealer’s actual hand and not what you think the dealer may be holding.

However, the house edge on the Double Exposure Blackjack game is high and as such, even though the game looks appealing, it is probably best to give it a miss.

How to Play Blackjack

If you have never played Blackjack before then allow us to give you a brief insight into how to play the game. Before you can start to play, you need to place a wager on the betting box (on the Blackjack table) in front of you.

The dealer will then deal out to you two face up cards. Depending on which variant you are playing, the dealer will also deal one up facing card to himself. You must then decide on whether your hand is going to be higher in value than the dealer’s hand.

If you decide that your hand is good enough to beat the dealer’s hand, based on the value of your hand and the dealer’s up facing card, then you must Stand your hand. The dealer will then deal his additional card or cards. If your hand beats his without going over 21 in value, then you have won.

If you think your hand is not good enough based on your two initial cards, you can opt to Hit your hand, and receive a third card. Some Blackjack variants will allow you to buy an additional third card. This is known as a Double Down wager.

Furthermore, if you have been dealt a pair of cards with matching values, then most variants will allow you Split them. When you do this, both cards are separated into two new hands, and a new stake from your bankroll must be placed on the Blackjack table. Then you will be able to play both hands separately.

If your hand beats the dealer’s hand, then your wagers are paid out at odds of even money. If your hand is a Blackjack hand (a ten valued card along with an Ace) and it beats the dealer’s hand, you will be paid out at odds of 3 to 2.
