Bethlehem, Pennsylvania – Parents leave their children in the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem parking lot for hours while they gamble

On Monday the 15th of February at 3.21 a.m., police officers were dispatched to the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem were they found two unattended juvenile children locked inside a blue 2002 Honda Accord in the parking garage of the casino. The car engine was not running, and the outside temperature was 11 degrees, with a wind chill of one degree above zero. According to video surveillance footage, the parents, Enrique Garcia, 49, and Frances Garcia, 45 arrived at the casino at approximately 12:33 a.m. which means that the children must have been sitting in the car for almost 3 hours with only their jackets to keep them warm. Both parents were arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of children.
