Atlantic City, New Jersey – Trump Taj Mahal owner files paperwork to close the casino

The Trump Taj Mahal management team has formally asked the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement for permission to close the casino in October 2016, and to start shutting down table games starting on the 26th of September. The petition to shutdown the casino was filed on the 2nd of September. Ichan has stated that the casino is losing millions of dollars every month as a result of the strike by Local 54 of the Unite-HERE union members. Donald Trump opened the Taj Mahal back in 1990, but sold his stake in the casino a number of years ago and no longer has any controlling interest in the company.
