Artificial intelligence has finally beaten professional Poker players at Poker

Researchers at the University of Alberta have finally developed a computer program that is able to play Poker against the best Poker players and win. The computer program named DeepStack possesses a “human-like” intuition that is developed through deep learning which enables it to assess and re-assess different types of strategies and learn from its experiences. Using its advanced algorithm, DeepStack defeated 11 professional poker players who were recruited by the International Federation of Poker in December 2016. DeepStack outperformed the 11 professional poker players after 3,000 games each of heads-up no-limit poker. Where traditional algorithms calculate all of the possible outcomes of a game beforehand, the deep learning component of DeepStack’s algorithm uses current situations and experience to help it to learn and grown more intelligent similar to a human.
