A self-excluded gambler must forfeit her winnings at Mount Airy Casino

Danielle Michelle Hoagland, 34, won a $3,041 jackpot at Mount Airy Casino at approximately 2.00 AM on Monday the 16th of November 2015. Mount Airy Casino is located at 312 S R 45100, Mt Pocono, Pennsylvania 18344. However, the casino soon discovered that Hoagland was on a five-year state self-exclusion list. As a result, Hoagland was denied the money that she had won, and was charged with criminal trespass before being released. After a person voluntarily places oneself on a self-exclusion list, then the licensed gambling establishment must refuse the person’s wagers, will ask the person to leave the gambling area, and may have the person arrested for criminal trespass. A self-excluded person is not allowed to collect any winnings or recover any losses. Furthermore, any money that is won by a self-excluded person must be forwarded to the gaming control board and deposited into the Compulsive and Problem Gambling Treatment Fund.
