A New Jersey woman buys the wrong lottery ticket and wins $5 million

When Oksana Zaharov, 46, asked the clerk for a $1 scratch-off ticket, she was given a $10 Set For Life ticket instead. Not wishing to make a fuss, Zaharov paid $10 for the Set For Life ticket and left the store. A couple of weeks later, Zaharov decided to scratch the ticket, and as a result became the winner of a $5 million lottery prize. Zaharov has opted to receive a minimum of a guaranteed $5 million over the course of 20 years. After receiving the entire sum (minus taxes) over a period of 20 years, Zaharov will receive $172,068 annually for the rest of her life. The winning ticket was purchased at Trisha Convenience on Dyckman Street in Manhattan.
