A man is arrested for trying to buy into a poker game using counterfeit money

Lake Charles, Louisiana – Jarred Blakey 28, wasn’t having a great deal of luck when he tried to buy into a Poker game at a Lake Charles area casino. The problem with the $100 that Blakey was using is that it was fake. Suspicious about the nature of the $100 bill, the casino contacted the Louisiana State Police Gaming Enforcement Division who sent officers to investigate. After some initial investigation, the police determined that the $100 that Blakey had used was counterfeit. Police also found more counterfeit money on Blakey’s person, in addition to marijuana. Further investigation revealed that Blakey had also used counterfeit money on another separate occasion. Blakey was arrested on for 10 counts of monetary instrument abuse and one count of possession of marijuana. He was taken to the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center. His bail is set at $105,000.
