A man gets drunk, attacks his fiancé and tries to sue the casino for serving him free alcohol

According to Nicholas Mullins, 31, of Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, The Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem is partially responsible for what happened between Mullins and his ex-fiancé Caitlin Shields. According to reports, Mullins blames The Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem for serving him free alcoholic drinks while he was intoxicated which eventually led him to have an altercation with his fiancé. The violent altercation resulted in Mullins beating his fiancé to the point where she suffered brain damage.

“The question is whether Sands served him while he was physically intoxicated and whether that alcohol played a part, however small, in the fight that ensued later. Nick is here not asking for sympathy He’s only asking from you whether he deserves what the law allows him to get, which is compensation. He’s not looking for a big payday. He’s looking for compensation for what was taken away from him.” said Mullins’ lawyer, Stuart M. Niemtzow.

Mullins is currently on probation after serving a four-year term for aggravated assault.
