A Georgia lottery winner is shot and killed during a home invasion

Craigory Burch, Jr., 20, was feeling lucky when he decided to play the Georgia lottery “Fantasy 5” in November 2015. He ended up winning the jackpot prize of $434,272. Unfortunately, his luck ran out a few short months later when three masked men blasted their way into his home with a shotgun and demanded money.

“When they came in, he said, ‘don’t do it bro. Don’t do it in front of my kids. Please don’t do it in front of my kids and old lady. Please don’t do that bro. Please don’t. He said I’ll give you my bank card,” recalled Jasmine Hendricks, Burch’s girlfriend who was present during the home invasion.

Burch then tossed his pants to the robbers who searched it but couldn’t find his wallet. That is when they shot and killed Burch before running away.

Police have not yet identified the three suspects and are appealing to anyone with information to contact the Ben Hill County Sheriff’s Office on (229) 426-5161.
