A factory worker wins the $310 million dollar Powerball

Julie Leach, 50, of Three Rivers in Michigan was having a bad day at work when she decided to check her Powerball lottery ticket while waiting in the McDonald’s drive-thru line. The numbers on her lottery ticket were 21, 39, 40, 55 and 59, and the Powerball was 17. Sure enough, she had won the $310 million dollar Powerball. After making sure that she had actually won, she quit her job at a Michigan fiberglass factory and decided to take the lump sum of money worth $197 million before taxes, instead of taking $310 million dollars over 30 years. With her new found wealth, Leach plans to take care of her family and travel. “I keep going to sleep and waking up with the same beautiful dream.” Leach told reporters at a news conference at the Michigan Lottery headquarters.
