A charter bus bound for the Mohegan Sun casino crashes on Interstate 95 in Connecticut

At approximately 12.30 p.m. on Monday the 8th of February, a charter bus that is owned by Dahlia Inc. and operated by VMC East Coast was heading from Queens to the Mohegan Sun casino in Uncasville, Connecticut when the bus lost control and flipped on its side while driving through a snow storm. The snow storm was expected to drop a foot of snow on parts of the state. The bus was carrying 70 passengers. More than 30 of the passengers were injured. State police closed the northbound side of Interstate 95 in Connecticut between exits 60 and 61 while they dealt with the bus crash and the injured passengers. Six passengers were transported to Yale-New Haven hospital in critical condition. Mark D’Antonio, a Yale hospital spokesman said that the hospital received 8 patients, and not the 30 patients that they were originally told to expect. The Shoreline Medical Center received 16 patients.
