A casino manager with a gambling addiction steals $28,000

A casino manager who suffers from a gambling problem was recently arrested and charged with felony theft by the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Kenner Police Department. Renee Dibble, 55, was employed by Metro Gaming and Amusement Company, and worked at the Poker Palace, which is located inside the LaPlace Travel Center truck stop at 4325 Highway 51 in LaPlace, and at the Kenner Airport Casino, which is located next to a service station at 181 W. Airline Drive, Kenner. Some of her duties included replenishing the ATMs with money that she would withdraw from the company account. However, Dibble began to pocket some of the money that she was supposed to put into the ATMs and altered the financial records to hide the theft. Dibble confessed the thefts shortly before a scheduled company audit. She was released on $15,000 bond in St. John the Baptist and held on $30,000 bond in Jefferson, but was later released without paying bond in Jefferson because of overcrowding at the jail.
