Marlene Rivera, 36, of Southbridge, Massachusetts, and Roy Mariano, 52, of New London, Connecticut were recently charged with first degree larceny. According to reports, Mariano, who worked as a Blackjack dealer at Mohegan Sun Casino would put a black $100 chip in the middle of a stack of red $5 chips and give them to Rivera when she won. Rivera would accept the extra chips and later give Mariano his part of the money. This took place over 16 different gambling sessions during the month of August, and cost Mohegan Sun Casino approximately $78,000. Mariano had been working at Mohegan Sun Casino since it opened back in 1996, and told investigators that he was unhappy about a reduction in his work hours and he needed the money.
